Epsom Salts held on well when successful by a neck over course and distance in the Ladies' Derby earlier in the month but a 5lb rise for that makes this tougher and a better bet may be HIBIKI, who gets the vote over Penang Cinta. The David Evans-trained gelding has won each of his last two starts in handicaps at Brighton but a 7lb rise for the latest of those makes this more difficult for the six-year-old and he may have to settle for minor honours today. Mark Tompkins has his string in good form at present so his runner, Locum, has to be considered having run well when a close up fourth in a similar contest at Chester last time. Dani's Girl may do better back on the flat having been well held over hurdles last time and does have the assistance of a decent amateur on board but he needs to step up on recent form and preference is for Hibiki. Lightly raced on the flat, the son of Montjeu has shown improved form over hurdles for Philip Hobbs of late and looks worth backing back on the level.
