This does not look to be the strongest of openers and our vote goes to CARNAVAL COURT though Thousandkissesdeep and Queen Of Wands make any shortlist. Andrew Balding's charge showed improved form at this track earlier in the month and if, as the pedigree suggests, a mile is within her compass, she has to be respected. Thousandkissesdeep is particularly well bred. The breeding suggests that she will stay further though there are performers such as Midships within her pedigree. Queen Of Wands is a close relation to stayer, King Of Wands. One of the more expensive purchases, it would be no surprise to see anything gleaned as a juvenile as being a bonus. Mick Channon has three. Leitzu is exposed as ordinary but anything seen for the two debutants should not be ignored. Alan King has not had many two year old runners so it is difficult to be pedantic about Madam Ruby. Mahjong Girl has struggled in better maidens but with racecourse experience in mind, this does represent a much easier engagement. Creevy will make more appeal once tried in nurseries whilst Wild Rose is a half-sister to seven furlong winner, Market Day though does not hold any fancy entries this season. Carnaval Court is the selection in a race where cogent formlines are in short supply.
