    Verdict

A moderate handicap that can go to JEWELLED REEF but she is no more than a token pick with Cheap Street and Polar Annie also noted among the opposition. Eve Johnson Houghton's filly is yet to win a race but she did not run at all badly when tried here over an inadequate six furlongs but as she has already shaped with promise over a mile, we will take our chance that this half way house distance will bring about the necessary improvement. Cheap Street is a regular in events of this nature. He has actually been dropped by 2lbs since his latest placed effort at Salisbury so a note of the market is advised. Polar Annie is officially the best of these on official figures. Malcolm Saunders filly was in good nick at this time of year last season though she has yet to sparkle in this. Goodbye Cash has graduated upward from a mark of 47. Life will not be too easy for him in the future. Stand In Flames won on heavy going for Pat Eddery and makes his debut for George Baker. The draw could have been kinder. Moral Duty has clearly had training troubles though has had fewer bites of the cherry than most. Charlie Delta needs little introduction but has been desperately out of form. Jewelled Reef is selected although stakes should be kept to the minimum.
