Verdict

A wide open handicap rounds off the card and many can be given chances on their best form but the principals look to be Grandalea, Compton Drake and The Player and the vote goes to Grandalea. The selection is one of the least exposed in the field won well last time out when defeating Eccentric. He returns to turf on a fair mark and if he acts on the track he will be hard to beat. Compton Drake rates the main danger he won well last time out when defeating Elidore but he will find this harder under a penalty and for that reason he is opposed. The Player is another worthy of respect he is another unexposed type that has plenty of scope for improvement but he may just need the run after a 339 day absence. Mr Velocity is another that could go well now he steps up in trip especially as the booking of Frankie Dettori catches the eye. Go Solo has dropped to a handy mark and with his yard beginning to hit form he is worth noting in the market, the same comment applies to Parnassian but for the winner we return to Grandalea.
