Mutamarres lost no caste in defeat at Newmarket last time but Sir Michael Stoute's horses are not in great form at present and a better bet may prove to be Cape Royal, who is preferred to Caribbean Coral. The last mentioned put a disappointing effort at Goodwood behind him when running better than his finishing position would suggest at Beverley last time and has to be respected on that evidence; however, Chris Wall's gelding would probably prefer a faster surface so he may be best watched. Gary Moore's Night Prospector is inconsistent, while Holbeck Ghyll probably has the worst of the draw in stall one and will need plenty of luck in running from there. Peace Offering resumed winning ways at Nottingham last time and escapes a penalty for that success but he too has been done no favours with the draw so preference is for Cape Royal, who has a decent draw, will be right at home on the ground and has shown signs of a revival of late.
