A tricky handicap can go to Etmaam, who is selected in preference to Strider and Sunisa, who hail from top yards that do well here and are respected accordingly. The John Gosden-trained Rendezvous Point is surely better than she showed last time and is another to monitor in the betting now that she has got the benefit of a seasonal run behind her. Out of the rest: Gavroche, Anousa and Saida Lenasera are all quite closely matched and there is unlikely to be much between them again today. However, they may all find Etmaam to be the toughest customer to deal with now that he has found his optimum distance. Mark Johnston has done extremely well with horses of his profile and, considering that his three-year-olds returned a 17% return on level stakes investments at this course last year, Etmaam can continue to reap the dividends on what has been a happy hunting ground for his yard today.
