James Fanshawe has brought his string back to the boil after a quiet little period and the Newmarket handler appears to have found a good opening for Catherine Wheel to get one over on more experienced rivals like Fishlake Flyer, Open Mind and Shanghai Surprise, who have all been hard to win with up to press. The official assessor, from a mark of 66, has the first named of that trio at the top of his list and it will not be surprising to see James Given's charge give the selection the most to do. However, Fishlake Flyer has already had plenty of chances to rid herself of the maiden tag and her knack of finding one too good is wearing a little thin now. Therefore, it may be more prudent to side with the potential of Catherine Wheel as she is sure to have benefited greatly from her debut run. The daughter of Primo Dominie did well to finish a close up second after missing the kick at Thirsk and, as Fanshawe is sure to have done some work in that area of her game-plan, a more accomplished performance can be expected this time around.
