      Verdict

      A most disappointing turn out for the prize money with only four runners having conceivable chances at the weights. Balakiref is best in at the weights and has been consistently among the places in seven furlong handicaps. He is yet to win over the trip but if the ground stays good or softer, he has to be given every chance. Undeterred was hit across the face by a whip in his last visit to the racetrack but providing that he experiences no mental side-effects from that indiscretion, he is given the nod tonight. Although he tends to do his racing in big fields, he has solid form and he has won a tactical four-runner race before. Night Flight hails from an in-form yard but he tends to be at his best when covered up. In the absence of this, he is opposed on this occasion. Czar Wars pops up occasionally but is opposed tonight.
