Verdict

The step back in trip will suit DEAUVILLE FLYER and Tim Easterby's gelding tops the shortlist here; others to consider include Mubrook, Hawridge Star, Cleaver and Puy D'Arnac. The selection is at home on a variety of ground however his two recent efforts in soft going have suggested that this Dubai Destination colt revels in this sort of ground. His handicap mark is on the high side, however Paul Hanagan looks a good jockey booking and this course winner is fancied to run a big race. Hawridge Star is another who won't mind the cut in the ground and he should come on significantly for a recent Goodwood run, Crocus Rose is consistent and sits at the right end of the weights, whilst Herrera and Royal Trooper both have stamina to prove. Course and distance winner Puy D' Arnac stays well and has conditions to suit, Cleaver is edging back down to a feasible mark, whilst the step up in trip looks sure to suit the one-paced Mubrook. My Mate Max did it nicely last time and is another who looks a player. At a price top-weight Gifted Heir could run well, however he looks high enough in the weights and so we are happy to return to Deauville Flyer as the selection.
