A number of the usual suspects on view and THUNDERSTRUCK is taken to land it at the expense of Mondego and King Of Connacht. The application of headgear appeared to galvanise some improvement from Jeremy Glover's gelding and while we are taking something of a flyer given that he has made one appearance on the all-weather surfaces; the booking of a professional rider rather than an amateur or a claimer is eyecatching. Mondego won well at Lingfield last time out. Mark Coumbe replaces Matthew Davies in the plate. King Of Connacht seems to run his best races at this track. On a strict line of form, he should be able to hold The Grey One on their August meeting. Trusted Venture may have needed his return to the track from absence so the market is watched. Strike Force is back in cheekpieces having raced without them last time out. Accompanist has visited these shores before without success. Albulhairth looks to have regressed sharply this term and having shown a spark of life at Leicester in a seller; he was well turned over here in claiming class. Thunderstruck is not without a few issues but has less negatives than most.
