SOPHIE'S BEAU has the form on the board but he will face some real unknown quantities in the form of Layla's Lad and Mnasikia. The selection finished second to Side Glance in a Newmarket maiden and while this is a drop in class, we are confident that his American led pedigree has enough going for it to suggest that his form will translate. Layla's Lad is owned by the all conquering Marwan Koukash. A half-brother to a number of dirt winners Stateside; he should have few issues here if good enough. Mnasikia is a half-sister to Dubai Echo. That horse showed its best form as an older horse but she is impeccably bred and Kieren Fallon is aboard. Tim Easterby has saddled a couple of winners this week so Confessional cannot be dismissed. Texas Queen has taken her chances in better maidens than this though whether this trip suits is something we are prepared to have reservations about. True To Form will be much more appealing once handicapped. Super Yellow is a half brother to Little Dalham, and he would have been very much in our thoughts had the yard had more winning juveniles than they have. Sophie's Beau is no gimme here but his class should tell.
