In an interesting fillies' handicap, we will side with Roodeye ahead of Silk Fan, Oasis Star, Poppys Footprint and Ghurra. Roodeye certainly has a race of this nature in her and she has been unlucky not to score already this term. With Richard Quinn doing the steering tonight, she is very much respected, as, indeed, is Newmarket scorer Clinet, who runs under a penalty. Ghurra looked a surefire future winner when second over course and distance two runs ago but two subsequent runs now have us scratching our heads. Enford Princess couldn't be strongly fancied to win from her current mark based on recent efforts, but Poppys Footprint is on a reasonable mark if at her recent best. Dispol Katie possibly benefited from the underfoot conditions when scoring at York last time, so might be vulnerable tonight, and Violet Park has yet to convince of her effectiveness from her revised rating. Kelucia is now being given some respite from the handicapper but still has something to prove at present, as does Oasis Star, although a return to the level of form that saw her finish second to Peeress last July, would give her a big chance. Her trainer, Walter Swinburn, also runs Silk Fan, who looked to be coming to hand last time and, with her stable now firing in the winners, she looks set to go well. However, we will just side with Roodeye.
