Not an easy way to close proceedings but TILLIETUDLEM has progressed well of late and gets the call over Simple Jim and Silent Lucidity in the anticipated absence of Tropical Bachelor - although if he were to run following an easy win on Friday he'd take some beating. Jim Goldie's charge won over timber in April and returned to the flat with a bang, landing two wins at Musselburgh and Ayr. He's up in grade and has been reassessed to the tune of 7lbs, but Ian Brennan has won aboard the horse in the past, he's versatile ground-wise, and a big run looks likely. Tropical Bachelor would probably be the one to be on here if turning up despite having had a tough enough race on Friday; he's progressing along the right lines and will be hard to keep out of the frame. With his anticipation in doubt though we'll suggest Simple Jim as the biggest threat to our pick. He scraped home last time but as a result the handicapper could only bump him up a couple of pounds and he remains fairly treated; any rain won't harm his chance either. Silent Lucidity completes the shortlist having won last time although he does need to reverse previous form with Simple Jim. Again he's going the right way and is only opposed on the grounds this drop in trip may pose a problem. Red Wine continues to acquit himself well despite his advancing years but the draw hasn't been kind whilst Sir Sandicliffe needs to show he's as good on turf as he is on the all-weather, although his sole success on the grass came on ground with cut. In an open finale Tillietudlem gets the most tentative of votes.
