in touch on inside, headway over 3f out, challenged and every chance from 2f out, still challenging 1f out, found no extra and held towards finish
held up in rear, pushed along and some headway on inside over 3f out, plugged on same pace final 2f
always behind, pushed along and struggling 4f out, soon lost touch, tailed off and eased final 2f
close up, pushed along 4f out, ridden and stayed on from over 1f out, never going pace to trouble leaders
chased leaders, ridden 3f out, weakened over 2f out
held up in rear, ridden over 3f out, never a factor
took keen hold in touch, pushed along on inside 3f out, ridden and no impression over 2f out
tracked leader, led after 2f, headed 3f out, weakened over 2f out
took keen hold towards rear, pushed along 4f out, driven on outside and some headway over 1f out, no danger
No less than seven horses share the honour of best-in at the weights, making this a tricky puzzle to solve, but we'll take a chance with HEAVEN FORBID ahead of Mighty Clarets and Crunched. Our pick is undoubtedly speculative having failed to deliver on her debut promise, a staying-on third at Yarmouth. The winner of that contest is now rated 100 so she'd look thrown in had connections turned to a handicap, but despite the concern connections have turned to this Classified contest we'll pin our hopes on a return to rain-softened ground bringing about a return to form. She's a daughter of Pivotal out of a Benny The Dip mare so really should rate better than this grade and James Fanshawe will be keen to get a win out of her as soon as possible. Mighty Clarets comes here with solid form credentials after a good fourth last time, one that came on the back of a hard fought success at Newcastle, but we're concerned that he might need quick ground to produce his best. Crunched showed much more last time after a lacklustre return so it'd be no surprise were he to build on that with a strong run; he coped admirably with awful conditions on his debut as a juvenile and appears versatile. Similar comments apply to Search For The Key whose best effort to date came on ground with cut at Haydock last term; he's only had four starts and was well backed ahead of his debut, suggesting connections have seen something they like. Flag Of Glory disappointed many backers last time with a poor effort under a penalty but he's bred to improve for stepping up to a mile and a quarter so with the yard going well don't rule him out, but we prefer to take a chance on Heaven Forbid.
