In a wide open sprint handicap JONNY MUDBALL gets our vote to beat Tajneed, with the unexposed Poet's Place and back-to-form Definightly others to consider. Our selection looked like a horse going places when readily landing a seven furlong Lingfield maiden before going close on his handicap debut next time off this mark of 89. A horse with plenty of speed, he appeals as one who can contest in big sprint handicaps throughout the summer and our only concern as to his ability to go close here would be the rain forecast; he probably doesn't want it any slower than good-to-soft. One horse who does enjoy cut is Tajneed who won readily at his favourite course Ripon last time. This is tougher but he remains competitively treated off 96 and he placed on his sole course and distance start. Poet's Place is unbeaten following two victories at Southwell and, although this is tougher and he's got to prove he's as effective on turf, he can't be ruled out despite a 12lb hike in the weights. Definightly showed smart juvenile form and bounced back to something like his best last time but with some real speedballs here we're concerned this seven furlong winner may get taken off his feet, although he should stay on past a few to reach the frame. Invincible Force is versatile in terms of both trip and ground and has won at Doncaster so is another with claims although he may need a career best off this mark, whilst Jamie Spencer has been aboard form all of Captain Ramius' wins so Kevin Ryan's charge has to be considered despite the fact he's yet to win over this trip. Joseph Henry seems to go well for Billy Cray and he's not got too much to find with Tajneed but all may give best to Jonny Mudball who is taken to build on previous promise.
