Azizi gave the impression that he was now in the grip of the handicapper following his narrow defeat behind Red Badge at Newmarket and, while he may improve for the extra furlong over a mile today, another 4lb rise may prevent him from going one better and preference is for Mark Johnston's WHIPPERS LOVE with stable companion Mister Angry rated the main danger. Both of Mark Johnston's runners have been in great form of late having won their last two and three starts respectively but the selection has been winning nurseries and can defy his latest 6lb rise, while Mister Angry races in this grade for the first time and may have to settle for minor honours off a mark that may be too high. Luca Cumani's Start Right looks to be going the right way and has to be considered first time in a handicap, while Andrew Balding's Dromore is likely to find this tougher than the auction maiden that he won at Salisbury last month. Gunner Lindley should be thereabouts again but could probably do with some help from the handicapper and preference is for the in-form Whippers Love.
