Kauri Forest is expected to improve enough to open his account, with Arctic Silk, Serre Chevalier and Nordwind others to consider. Kauri Forest was thought good enough to be sent off favourite on his Kempton debut but finished third. The son of Woodman should improve enough for the run to open his account. Cape Verdi's first foal Arctic Silk faded right out of contention on her Kempton debut and may do better over this shorter trip. Serre Chevalier has already been gelded but put in a pleasing performance when second, also at Kempton on his debut at the end of May. His stable does not normally have first-time out winners so that was a pleasing effort and he should run well. He makes more appeal than stablemate Nordwind, but in an interesting contest with an eye to the future, Kauri Forest gets the vote.
