In depth

Verdict

Yorkshire Blue can return to winning ways at the expense of Wrenlane, And Toto Too and Fair Shake in the finale. Jim Goldie's five-year-old, who suffers from bad feet, did not let that stop him rattling up a double at Ayr and over tonight's course and distance a month ago. He was ridden with too much restraint when failing to make it a hat-trick at Thirsk more recently and the lightning fast ground probably did not help either. Hopefully Nicky Mackay will have him up with the pace this time, and as he is still not badly handicapped, the Scottish raider is taken to bounce back. Wrenlane has been harshly hit by the handicapper and needs to come down the weights before making his mark in handicap company, while Locombe Hill won a ladies' race over a mile here last November but has struggled since. None of the others stand out, and Yorkshire Blue has a leading chance.
