The apprentice handicap that starts the card can go to Most-Saucy, with Man The Gate Stolen Hours rated the biggest dangers. Most-Saucy landed a course and distance success around this time last year from a mark of 64 so, given that she is now rated 57, she has to hold every chance. Valeureux comes here in good heart after being just touched off at Pontefract last time from today's mark and, given that he stays 12 furlongs, must also be given a chance. Man The Gate acts here and, having run pretty well from today's mark recently, will justifiably have his supporters with a good apprentice booked. Half Inch could be given a squeak if returning to his best form of the autumn, while Stolen Hours was beaten a short head by the in-form Cristoforo over course and distance last time and, despite being raised two pounds for that effort, is entitled to go well. Much as General found all bar Cold Turkey too good here in April from a one-pound higher mark, that was on soft going and he looks worth opposing off topweight. Once again, then, for us the selection is Most-Saucy.
