Verdict

Imtiyaz looks the one to beat here with Fruhlingsturm and, possibly, Bustan proving his biggest dangers. The Saeed bin Suroor-trained five-year-old found all bar subsequent Eclipse third Kalaman too good for him in Listed race at Goodwood on his seasonal return and could prove a tough nut to crack here. Bustan raced far too keenly in first-time blinkers at Sandown last time and would have to be a lot more tractable here if he were to score. However, much as he has been consistent at Listed level over the last year or so, we prefer others today. Bonecrusher was just beaten here in the City and Suburban in April but has been found out off a higher mark since and we feel the selection will prove too good for him. Fruhlingsturm won a Group 2 race in Germany last September, beating the Godolphin runner Naheef by two lengths. He is now with Michael Jarvis and looked as though a return to 10 furlongs would suit him better than the 12 furlongs he raced over last time at Newmarket. He can go well but, overall, we very much like the look of Imtiyaz.
