Nothing more than a moderate division of this maiden where the vote goes to newcomer JARROW to get the better of the more experienced Adventure Story. Although Mark Johnston's debutants so often improve for their first run, he still does well enough with first-timers to keep us interested in this Shamardal colt. His sire won twice on soft ground, he is related to useful sprinters, but should step up to middle distances in time, and his price increase as a yearling also looks positive. All of that together with a decent draw means we will chance him. Adventure Story has achieved an official assessment of 75 after a trio of maiden runs that have seen her twice finish runner-up. This trip should be ideal, although she is unproven on the going and may do better in handicaps. Bear Tobouggie cost very little but is related to both sprint and middle distance winners. She should handle conditions and if there is support for her then it is probably worth noting. Hamloola was a far more expensive purchase and pedigree suggests that she would have the ability to go close here if the ground were faster, but she may struggle with it as it is. Tell Halaf is another who is far from certain to act on this surface, while Count Of Anjou is now dropped back significantly in trip from a mile last time, when he also failed to handle plenty of cut. Caution is advised when wagering here, and the suggestion is Jarrow.
