In depth

Verdict

The drying ground may not help Noonday Gun and Rodrigo Diaz has only won on the all-weather so far, though came up against a better-treated rival when second at Newmarket last month. END RESULT also placed at HQ on his reappearance, despite hanging in the closing stages. The step up to 1m4f may well suit and he might enjoy a fitness advantage over Hasty Sailor, who hasn’t raced but has been gelded since landing the odds at Lingfield in November. Utile will need to do better than at Kempton, where she displayed signs of temperament, though a tongue-tie is added.
