    Verdict

A tough one to call as the likes of Cashneem, Yorkshire Blue and Warden Warren all arrive here at the top of their game, however, it may be worth chancing the progressive Borrego, as he looks set to encounter his ideal conditions today. There are others that add a further dimension to the race and the likes of Balakrief and Snow Bunting could go well for each-way players after decent performances last time out. However, as Clive Brittain now looks to be stepping things up with his string, Borrego is given the benefit of the doubt after his absence. The Green Desert colt improved a stone as last season went on and confirmed himself to be on the right track when finishing second in a much better race than this on his last start of the campaign. The betting market will give some solid indications as to how much is expected of him this time around, but it can safely be assumed that he will be expected to cope with this test if he is go on to better things later on. The gallant performance of Warrsan at Epsom yesterday underlined that Britain has his string in fine order at the moment and, although this is on a much lesser scale, Borrego can do his bit to boost the coffers of his shred yard with a bold show today.
