In depth

Verdict

Checklow can make it back-to-back wins here at the main expense of Nanton and Peruvian Prince. Jeremey Noseda's 3-year-old won well at Windsor last time when he beat Gaia Prince and this imposing colt looks to have a big future. This track should suit him and he can score on his handicap debut. Nanton wasn't beaten far in a handicap here last time and he is tried and tested at this level. He should run his race and if the selection fails to live up to expectations, he will probably be the one to capitalise. Peruvian Prince has been a model of consistency this season but the worry is that the handicapper might just have his measure at present. Granston has got course and distance winning form but he was disappointing last time out, and we will stick with the scopey Checklow as our choice.
