Verdict

A trappy maiden with the only runner with experience, LEES ANTHEM, taken to get the better of debutants King Of Axum and Kanaf. The selection crashed through the stands' rail when appearing to hold a narrow advantage close home last time out and had clearly been spooked. There's no way of knowing whether he would have won, but he was running a terrific race. The two-year-old looks useful and it has to be hoped this does not leave a mental scar. King Of Axum comes fresh from the yard of Mark Johnston who is always respected. Kanaf is another debutant with appeal. His yard have done well in similar events in the past and a place in the front three looks possible.
