Not the strongest of maidens for the money and it could be an ideal opportunity for Lady Friend to get off the mark at the third attempt. Bee Sting and Soul Mountain make it to the shortlist. The selection appreciated the step up to this trip when just held at Windsor earlier this month. She also appeared to appreciate the give in the going and with conditions similar today, she looks primed for another big run from a fairly decent draw in stall six. Expect further improvement. Soul Mountain looks the obvious danger. Whilst the stable have been fairly quiet of late, Barry Hills (who has won this race for the past two years) did have a winner on Wednesday and the yard may be starting to fire again. Another horse who appears to be improving with her racing, this Rock Of Gibraltar filly must go close if taking to the softer conditions. A poor draw makes life tougher though. Bee Sting has shown misty glimpses of ability and is one to keep an eye on. The rest have shown very little and it is easy to pass them over and return to Lady Friend as the winner.
