Nonrunner
An intriguing handicap in which the narrow vote goes to Vitznau ahead of White Deer and handicap debutante Vainglory. Having won well last time out at Epsom on similar ground, the selection is fancied to run another big race despite a 7lb rise in the weights. His two wins so far have come on good to soft ground and having run well around the tight turns of Lingfield and Windsor before, today's course should hold no fears. As a hold-up horse he may need some luck in running however he has a good low draw from which to gain a good position. White Deer is a formidable front-runner and has an ideal draw in stall one. This seven furlongs is definitely his trip and he may prove hard to pass if gifted an easy lead. Vainglory was impressive last time out but a mark of 80 for his handicap debut leaves little room for negotiation, whilst Everymanforhimself takes a slight drop in class and has place claims. Arch Of Titus looks weighted to the hilt, but the joker in the pack could be Medici Pearl who ran well last time out on his handicap debut and may be better than this mark of 73. A tough race to sort out, however Vitznau is in great form and can win again.
