Personify looked in need of every yard of the six furlongs on his Yarmouth debut and should improve for the step up to seven furlongs today, so gets the vote over Country Rambler and Johnny Jumpup. The last mentioned was disappointing when quietly fancied for the Solario at Sandown last time. The soft ground that day can hardly be used as an excuse as the son of Pivotal is bred to appreciate plenty of cut and has won on it before. The faster ground here is not certain to suit and a bigger threat may come from Country Rambler. The Barry Hills-trained colt stepped up on his debut effort when running out the easy winner of a Warwick maiden in June before being well held by the useful Dubawi in Newmarket's Superlative Stakes. The son of Red Ransom has been given a break since and is interesting representing a stable that has a fine record on the course. Henry Cecil's Hachita created a favourable impression when making a winning debut at Kempton but failed to progress at Sandown subsequently and preference is for Personify, who looked a colt of some potential when scoring at Yarmouth and should improve further for the longer trip.
