led, ridden and headed over 2f out, weakened final furlong
well behind, headway 4f out, not reach leaders
slowly away, reluctant to race, always in rear
prominent, ridden over 2f out, kept on final furlong
in touch throughout, ridden and not quicken final 2f
chased leaders until ridden and weakened over 3f out
in touch, ridden over 2f out, not quicken final furlong
Despite a very short price being likely, Khanjar is impossible to oppose in this weak maiden, with Bishopric the suggested forecast option. The American-bred colt showed plenty of promise behind a couple of smart horses on his two runs as a juvenile, and was then second at Nad El Sheba earlier this year. That form is far superior to anything his rivals here have shown, and with David Loder's string in such good form it would be folly to oppose Khanjar here. The form of the opposition does not amount to a great deal, but Bishopric showed promise when fourth in a maiden at the Guineas meeting on his debut, and on that evidence seems booked for second place here.
