The advantage of the draw is not easy to predict here, which means that stakes should be kept to a minimum, but our shortlist comprises Blakeshall Quest, Summer Lightning, Caught In The Dark and Little Venice. Blakeshall Quest was a winner at Southwell at the beginning of the month, and although her best form is certainly on fibresand, she was not entirely disgraced when sixth to the very smart Move It on turf before that and could go well for Darryll Holland here. Summer Lightning was a decent two-year-old sprinter, winning a nursery at Hamilton, and starts the season on a fair mark so is capable of going close here if fit for her reappearance. Little Venice had some fair maiden form last year and Chris Wall's filly is likely to strip a good deal fitter than when unplaced on her reappearance at Warwick, so cannot be entirely ruled out, but our slight preference goes to John Dunlop's Caught In The Dark, who will come up the stands side from stall 19. The daughter of Night Shift was an impressive winner of a maiden at Warwick last year, and has shown good form in both outings this season, fifth to No Time in a valuable handicap at Ascot, and then third in a Classified Stakes at Warwick when possibly racing a shade too keenly. She actually started favourite for the Ascot race, and is now on a three pound lower mark, so she looks the one to beat here.
