Verdict

A race not to get too heavily involved in, but it may be worth giving Beechy Bank the chance to show her 200/1 win at Warwick was not a fluke; Clarisse, Starry Mary and Night Beauty are likely to provide the stiffest opposition. Mary Hambro's filly was the longest priced flat winner for 180 years, when landing a Classified Stakes race at Warwick last September, and has not raced since. That was her first run for the new stable, and although the handicapper has raised her 28 pounds after that, he may have erred on the generous side and strictly on the book she looks well in here on a mark of 66. Clarisse is an improving filly and Henry Candy's charge was a well-backed favourite when winning a Bath handicap on her reappearance, so is likely to go well on this six pound higher mark. Starry Mary is fairly consistent and should not be too far away if able to reproduce the form which saw her go down by just a head at Bath last week, while the booking of Jamie Spencer catches the eye for Ed Dunlop's Night Beauty on her handicap debut, and this King Of Kings filly is likely to go well from a mark of just 78.
