Verdict

What Katie Did looks the pick of Milton Bradley's two runners in the opening event on the card over Ghost Dancer but neither look likely to be good enough to win what is admittedly a competitive event with a stronger chance held by NATIVITY, who gets the verdict ahead of Miss Firefly. The last mentioned has been running well for Ron Hodges of late having been placed in all three starts since winning at Wolverhampton in February and she has solid claims racing off the same mark as when narrowly beaten at Bath last month. Plumage won narrowly over course and distance last month and ran well in defeat at Leicester off the same mark that he races off today last time so he has to be considered. Irish raider Teilionn is lightly raced but needs to improve and of more interest may be Mouse Hamilton-Fairley's Sermons Mount, who has been running consistently well and should be thereabouts again. The vote though goes the way of John Spearing's Nativity, who lost no caste in defeat over course and distance two starts ago and was narrowly beaten in a Warwick maiden subsequently; he can open his account today.
