Jackie Kiely, Roya and Double Spectre are the three against the field in this tricky affair and Double Spectre is taken to defy top weight. Jackie kiely ran up a hat trick earlier this year and is still in good heart judged by a game success two outings ago at Epsom. He has won over the course and distance, winning this race a year ago off a seven pound higher mark so is not being asked too hard a question here and must go close on a track he clearly likes. Richard Hannon is represented here by Roya who showed his first piece of real form when finishing a close second in a claimer last time. He is still a maiden but may benefit from this step up in trip although he has yet to prove himself in handicap company and is therefore passed over. having run well in novice hurdles last winter, Double Spectre is yet to lose his maiden status in all spheres but has run well to be placed in two handicaps recently. He is slipping down the handicap, and looked particularly unlucky last time, having been hampered he stayed on well to be second at Salisbury. he has an easier task here and can make up for that unfortunate defeat.
