In depth

Verdict

There have been three winning four year-olds and two winning debutantes in four runnings of this race whilst the market has proved to be a reliable guide so that should be the first port of call. River Beauty is suggested. Gold Reef is arguably the form pick following her fourth placed finished in Sandown's Listed bumper but she had previously been put in her place by one of Nicky Henderson's and the Seven Barrows trainer should know where he stands with his three runners. River Beauty ran a strange race at Fontwell last time, being scrubbed along and seemingly in trouble quite early on before staying on for second once the winner had flown. The winner had already shown a useful standard of form though and the third had been short in the market on debut so the form may not be too bad and this better ground and longer trip should be in the filly's favour whilst Felix De Giles can do little wrong at present. Dusty Springheeled rates a mention and Flowing On shouldn't be underestimated but dangers are hard to pinpoint with so little evidence to go on and River Beauty couldn't be a confident selection.
