Nonrunner

In depth

Verdict

Former top class chasers Lou De Moulin Mas, Sleeping Night and Take The Stand are sure to have their supporters but we won't be amongst them as we're siding with Bon Accord. Unlike the three battle hardened veterans, this Accordion gelding - whose dam is a half-sister to The Listener, Fork Lightning and Distant Thunder - looks capable of putting two non-completions over hurdles in 2005 behind him and taking high ranking. He decisively beat a competitive field in a Hunter Chase here last May before returning to the scene of his triumph to beat all bar Amicelli in the Foxhunters. Shepherds Hut is another progressive performer who could give the selection something to think about. He successfully made the step up to Hunter Chase company when running out a ready winner from some decent yardsticks at Exeter. Only three managed to complete that day though and this does look more competitive. In contrast, Bon Accord has nothing to prove and is readily preferred.
