One Gulp, Safari Run and Amber Brook make most appeal to our eye in this contest and we're prepared to take a chance that there's enough juice in the ground to enable the Hernando mare to strut her stuff. Paul Webber has always held One Gulp in high regard and allowed his charge to take her chance in the Albert Bartlett where she emerged with a highly creditable seventh placed finish to her name. Her two wins over hurdles have come at around this trip whilst the return to racing against her own sex can only be in her favour and she's on a decent mark. The same cannot be said of Jaunty Flight as the handicapper took a dim view of her romp in the Newbury mud. Amber Brook and Katess were back in third and fifth that day and it would be no surprise to see the form reversed under these faster conditions. Of the three, we marginally prefer the claims of Amber Brook who will appreciate this ground and trip more than Katess. Safari Run was very impressive last time and doesn't appear to be too badly treated but this is a step up in class. Gaspara has to be on any short-list but Blaeberry was well beaten in last year's renewal from a significantly lower mark, Pyleigh Lady rates a mention as does Brook No Argument despite another hike in the weights but we hope to be raising a glass to One Gulp.
