This does not look to be the strongest of races and Pearl's A Singer looks to have been found a suitable opportunity to open her account, with Manhattan Jack and Wood Sprite rated the biggest dangers. The selection is no world-beater but has shown enough in handicaps and maidens to suggest that she would be more than capable of taking the honours. The four-year-old Manhattan Jack is easily the best of the older horses and Alan Swinbank's gelding has claims on the pick of his form. Wood Sprite showed only a modicum of ability on her only start at two and could be anything but is difficult to back with any confidence, while Rocky Agenda has had three starts in bumpers but needs to improve to trouble the selection Pearl's A Singer, who has an obvious chance in a poor contest.
