Miss Daawe finally found the winning thread at Thirsk on Monday evening and under the mandatory 6lb penalty can win again here. The frustrating Mr Rooney and bottom weight Orotund appear the main dangers. Miss Daawe showed good pace at Thirsk and after been prominent for most of the journey, picked up well when asked to stretch. The drop of rain during the week will have done her chances no harm either and while horses of her type are in-and-out performers, we know she is in rude health. Mr Rooney, beaten favourite on his three most recent starts appeared very one paced in the closing stages at Carlisle. He tends to fall behind in his races and stay on and while he is always place material, he could not be recommended as the most likely winner. Orotund is of real interest from a low draw. He handles plenty cut in the ground and two outings so far this term could well be considered pipe-openers. The drop to 5 furlongs should not prove any trouble to Tim Easterby's charge, who's horses are starting to hit a rich vain of form. Of the remainder Campo Bueno and the veteran Blackheath, who's recent second was left down by the winner next time out, are others who could get involved but in an open heat Miss Daawe is selected to follow up.
