Verdict

Mark Johnston and Greg Fairly paired up to win this race last season and they should be celebrating again with the progressive CAT O' NINE TAILS who has our vote with Nabari interesting after a solid debut and Blazing Desert can also be looked at after a good opening run on the level. Clearly in need of his first run the selection then stepped up on that and was unlucky to bump into a smart prospect from the Barry Hills yard. He was well clear in second and horse from this yard only ever really go one way in their development. Mark Johnston also sends out Quitao, who will have to improve vastly on his debut to score here so a bigger danger should be Nabari, who has a Kentucky Derby winner in his family and ran an encouraging debut in a strong look Salisbury maiden. Blazing Desert is a winning hurdler and made a nice start to life on the flat with a well held placing at Haydock while Architrave was disappointing on his handicap debut but should be seen in a better light now back in a maiden. An intriguing race that can go the way to Cat O' Nine Tails.
