This is a tricky handicap for punters to call but True Magic, Brut and Winthorpe look to be the leading lights and the vote is given to Brut. The selection won well last week at Thirsk when defeating Dark Champion. That was his reward for a string of decent efforts and now that he has hit the winning trail he looks worth following again. The booking of Robert Winston in the saddle is another plus. True Magic could give him the most to do as he got left at the start at Newcastle last time but stayed-on in eye-catching fashion to finish fifth behind Jadan. This extra furlong should suit and if he can get away on term he could go close. Winthorpe was a good second behind Bowness at Beverely last week, but Bowness was a beaten favourite at Doncaster on Saturday so it is not yet clear how strong that form is. Tribute sprung a surprise when winning over this course and distance last time, so he is another who is entitled to plenty of respect, but for the winner we will stick with Brut.
