A competitive finale in which SAM PATCH makes appeal for the Whillans team, especially with his talented conditional claiming a valuable 8lb over this lengthy trip. The pair have combined for nine races in succession, including a battling Newcastle success and a solid Perth effort on recent outings. Daasij looks an obvious threat, arriving in search of a three-timer. He displayed a resolute attitude when obliging at both Hexham and Newcastle and looks sure to be in the mix once again despite his penalty. Delightfully stayed on with some purpose from way back at Perth and should be running on when others have cried enough, whilst the consistent Winged Farasi is also worthy of mention.
