Verdict

A small but competitive field goes to post for this handicap chase and a chance is taken on Cortiona's Choice. The 12 year old showed improved form to win at Perth when defeating Devon View by 15 lengths and a reproduction of that effort would make him hard to beat despite a rise in the weights. Ivanoph rates the main danger he was a fair second behind Ei Ei last time however he has risen in the weights for that effort so for that reason he is opposed on this occasion. Didifon was a fair second behind Supreme Fortune last time out but that form has since been let down so he will have to have improved again to score. Lauderdale was a fair third behind Sir Norman last time and is another that could go well but he gave the impression he would be seen to better effect over a longer trip. Of the remainder Elvis Reigns has dropped to a fair mark but he continues to disappoint.
