Kinburn can beat Gary's Pimpernel here, with Killeaney, Majestic Moonbeam and Ball O Malt not to be ruled out completely. Kinburn used his stamina to good effect when landing a weak event at Wetherby last time, and although he drops back in trip today, the demands of this stiff course will once again ensure that he is in the front-rank when they turn for home. Howard Johnson's gelding makes slightly more appeal than Gary's Pimpernel who came out on top at Hexham in a race that was run at a funereal pace early on. The ground was fast as well, and he will do well to last out. Killeaney is one of two Irish raiders, the other being Alaipour, but with Graham Lee booked, the former makes more appeal. He likes to lead but has not managed to hang on in either of his last two visits to these shores, and is likely to be passed again. County Classic has an absence to overcome but showed enough when winning a bumper last year to be worth following during the winter. Ball O Malt has his first outing since coming over from Ireland but Richard Fahey will have some fun with him over the next few months. With fitness and stamina the two key requirements here though, we return to Kinburn as the answer.
