Kevin Ryan's Fasliyanne ran much better last month when narrowly beaten by Lake Chini over course and distance and she has claims despite a 4lb rise for that run but has only won once from 30 career starts so is not one to rely upon and a better bet may be BESTY, who is preferred to Hazelrigg. Tim Easterby's gelding has not won since landing his debut effort in a Thirsk maiden but he has shown improved form of late so cannot be discounted. John Quinn's Select Committee heads the weights for this handicap and comes here in fair form having been running consistently well of late and he should be thereabouts again but he may just be a shade high in the weights. Not My Choice and Comptonspirit are others to consider in a competitive event but the vote goes to Bryan Smart's Besty, who would not be winning out of turn having found just one too good in each of his last two outings and he has solid claims of going one better.
