A moderate handicap and MAGROOM is the token selection with Young Bertie and Outside Edge the others to make appeal. Magroom does have to bounce back from a moderate run at Kempton but on the basis of a second at Bath, he would have to be given a fair chance in spite of the handicapper's best efforts to get a grip on him. Young Bertie is a course-and-distance winner. He was a beaten favourite at Pontefract but this race is against more exposed performers and he shouldn't be discarded just yet. Outside Edge has shaped with some promise in the past though potential has yet to be translated into anything in the formbook. Napoletano runs his best races around this circuit and is sure to run another solid race today. Blue Charm was well punted ahead of his most recent engagement but the bookies satchels were the only things bulging afterwards. Wrighty Almighty has to enter calculations if the ground stays on the fast side. The Gaikwar was disappointing last time out though is entirely capable off a light racing weight. Carpe Diem has shown little of note though any inmate of Willie Haggas' off a mark of 57 is sure to create something of a stir in the betting. Magroom is the selection in a race where many can be given formbook claims.
