Verdict

This is a race that is set to be contested by some mainly disappointing types and this will not take too much winning. And Sunset King is given the nod over Franksalot and Aegean Line on the grounds of value. Lady Liesel has also threatened to take a race of this nature in the past and is one to watch for an each way move. However, the Sylvester Kirk-trained Sunset King has put in improved performances since he was handicapped and he should not be too far away if he can build on his latest effort; where he finished a respectable second to Lark In The Park on similar ground at Bath. The three-year-old gets on well with J D Smith and the partnership are taken to edge this modest contest close home. Franksalot appeals most of the remainder but has been an expensive maiden to follow and his tendency to find one too good is off-putting to say the least. Aegean Line also fits that sort of profile and is one to be wary of after continually disappointing this season. So the relatively unexposed Sunset King is given the chance to shine against some notoriously weak finishers.
