      Verdict

A good race for the grade and the consistent Alpen Wolf is given the vote to reverse recent form with Esato on the revised terms - although Madrasee has also got to be considered after going close in a much better race than this at Epsom on Bank Holiday Monday. Shoeshine Boy, Hard To Catch and Erracht are others who are capable of a bold show but have lacked consistency this term and are passed over for win only purposes. Therefore this could be the day for Alpen Wolf, who rarely runs a bad race at this track, to force his head in front for the fist time since his course and distance win from last May. He is only 2lb higher than for that success but is still very well treated on the pick of his form.
