Verdict

It is hard to fancy many of these so the vote goes to Ben Hur ahead of Looks The Business and A One. Ben Hur won a Chester claimer when rated 63 last summer, although more recent efforts have been disappointing. That said, a return to a track of this nature might rekindle him, that plus the fact that the opposition looks modest. Looks The Business showed some promise on the Flat before his attention was switched to hurdles, over which he won. He has to be respected at this level. A One won five times last summer, and would be a shoo-in if back in that type of mood, but his form since August leaves something to be desired. That said, he has to be given serious thought at this level. Finally, Mighty Pip caught the eye making some late gains over course and distance last time and might go well in what is a modest race but, for the winner, we return to Ben Hur.
