A very tricky opener to Brighton's card can go to Chalentina, who edges a narrow vote over Cheviot Heights and Diktatorship. There may also be more to come from Qutang now that the headgear has been dispensed with and, as he steps up to a more appropriate trip today, he has fair claims if he can reproduce the promise he showed at Newmarket on his second start. The son of Dr Fong is still open to improvement and is one to monitor in the betting. Diktatorship ran encouragingly last time and should be able to find a race somewhere along the line. However, he does not look particularly well handicapped on what he has achieved so far and faces a stiff test from top weight. Cheviot Heights is likely to be popular after her eye-catching debut at Newbury. The daughter of Intikhab should improve for the run and looks sure to be a leading player. However, slender preference goes to Chalentina, who has coped well against some decent types so far. Cut in the ground should suit the Primo Valentino filly and, with a rails draw and Jimmy Quinn doing the steering, Chalentina looks the value option in a tough one to call.
