In depth

Verdict

Border Edge made a valiant attempt to make the running over 11 furlongs at Newcastle last time but this is probably his optimum trip so, in his current form, John Bridger's gelding gets the vote to go one better and score at the main expense of Sincerely and Million Percent. The last mentioned has been running consistently well of late and has solid claims provided that the forecast rain does not arrive. Recent Bath winner Legal Lover struggled off his new mark at Pontefract last time and may need some help from the handicapper, while Lockstock has claims on the form shown at Chepstow two starts ago but is another that disappointed last time and may be best watched now. John Dunlop's Pleasing is less exposed than most but needs to improve on recent form to trouble the judge and of more interest may be the Barry Hills-trained Sincerely, who has been running consistently well of late and can again be expected to be thereabouts. Border Edge has solid claims in this grade though and may be too tough for his rivals.
